I joined Warwick International in 2008 as a Mechanical Project Engineer, to use my skills as an Engineer and all of the practical knowledge I have gained over the past 12 years. I have been involved in many projects, involving modifying and upgrading existing plant and equipment.
To further my asset management studies I was also asked to implement an initiative called Total Productive Maintenance (TPM). TPM is a continuous improvement program which sets out to achieve operational excellence through maintenance awareness and asset care. The program involves developing and training teams of operators and maintainers to maximise the effectiveness of their plant and equipment and improve levels of availability, performance and quality.
A pilot scheme was conducted to trial the process and a 100% increase in productive capacity was achieved, as well as a significant reduction in maintenance costs. Thanks to the success of the pilot a decision was made to roll out the program across the site.
